- Tenders are invited for Conduct Study to Explore Modern Storage Systems on Barley-Based Farming Systems of Arsi and West Arsi Zone of Oromia Region The specific objectives are to: Assess the existing storage system conditions and its suitability to meet the required malt barley quality Identify the different on-farm and off-farm modern storage system/option Suggest possible cost-effective modern storage system Scope of Work and deliverables The consultant is expected to undertake the following major tasks among others: Design the assessment tools/instruments to be employed and submit to SHA for comments Amend the tools based on comments from SHA Gather secondary data/information through a desk review Gather primary data/information from various sources Conduct interviews and focus group discussions to generate information from all relevant stakeholders Assess the malt barley producer farmers storage practices and facilities Describe the current conditions of the aggregation and available storage systems Identify challenges and opportunities in malt barley storage system Determine what on-farm and off farm storage system would be appropriate for quality malt barley Propose possible storage technology and methods Submit the draft assessment report to SHA Obtain comments and suggestions on the report, incorporate, and submit the final report and Present the findings to relevant stakeholders
