- Expression of Interest are invited for Consultancy Service for Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the study of Pedestrian Crossings. The main objective of the present assignment is to prepare and deliver ESIA for Pedestrian Crossings Sub Project in order to achieve appropriate environmental protection standards of Ethiopia and World Bank safeguard policies. The specific ESIA shall provide a clear and practical guide to the project implementing agency (RTMA) in integrating an environmental/social due diligence process in the various development phase of the sub-project. The specific objective of consultancy for ESIA are: Identification and Analysis of national and the World Bank environmental safeguard policies and regulation that will be triggered by the subproject activities at any development phase of the subproject and these shall include but are not limited to TRANSIP GAP, World Bank's Gender Strategy and GBV requirements; Describe the views and concerns of the public and stakeholders towards the implementation of the subproject; Establish baseline features of the biophysical, socio-economic, and cultural attributes in the subproject influence area; Together with the design consultant, identify and carry out all the possible subproject alternative analysis using a practical and credible set of criteria, and opt the most feasible options, finally undertake detailed ES assessment on the selected options, Identification and evaluation of significant impacts (both beneficial and adverse) due to the subproject implementation that requires appropriate mitigation measures; Propose specific mitigation for inclusion in the subproject detail design and management plan to reduce or avoid significant adverse environmental and social impact including gender and potential GBV risks, Cost estimate for each proposed mitigation measure and monitoring program
