- Expression of Interest are invited for Consulting Services for Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for Landfill Sites at Halaba, Wolaita- Soddo and Areka Cities and, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for Abattoir Site in Jinka City. The consulting service includes but not limited to the following; Providing a complete description of the existing site proposed for Landfill in Halaba, Wolaita-Soddo, and Areka cities and abattoir site in Jinka city. Detail the elements of this construction project, highlighting areas to be reserved for construction and the areas which are to be preserved in their existing state. Identifying the major environmental and social issues of concern through the presentation of baseline data which should include social and cultural considerations. Assess public perception of the proposed projects. Outlining the Legislations and Regulations relevant to the project. Predict the likely impacts of the project on the described environment, including direct, indirect and cumulative impacts, and indicate their relative importance to the design of the project's facilities. Identifying mitigation action to be taken to minimize adverse impacts and quantify associated costs. Preparing environmental and social management plan and applicable resettlement action plan considering current land acquisition and appropriation proclamation and regulation. Designing a Monitoring Plan which should ensure that the mitigation plan is adhered to Describing the alternatives to the project that could be considered at that site Bureau of Urban Development and Construction invites qualified consulting firms to express their interest to carry out the consulting service within 15 calendar days of this announcement in Addis Zemen Gazetta. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualification and relevant experience to perform the services. The shortlisting criteria are Core business and years in business, qualifications in the field of the assignment, technical and managerial organization of the firm, and general qualification, and the number of key staff. The Consulting Firm will be selected on quality and cost based selection procedure (QCBS) set out in the SNNPR Public Procurement and Property Administration directive #28/2010.
