  • Description :
  • Tenders are invited for Delivering the Agribusiness Leadership Program (Alp) in Malt Barley Production Areas The primary objective of the assignment is for the Consultant to deliver ALP training and coaching to 150 entities (100 model farmer aggregators; 25 commercial farmers and 25 input retailers) in the Soufflet malt barley supply chain. The participants may include either staff or owners of each of these entities. The number of entities may change slightly during implementation and if this happens adjustment will be made accordingly. An IFC master trainer will conduct Training of Trainers (ToTs) on the Agribusiness Leadership Program (ALP) modules to the trainers contracted by the Consultant to provide capacity building services to 150 entities (100 model farmer aggregators; 25 commercial farmers and 25 input retailers). During the project's life; there may be opportunities to use IFC ALP online training resources in a blended learning format. The model farmer aggregators may have varying literacy and education levels and thus training materials and training delivery methods may be adapted to consider these differences. Commercial farmers may also have varying literacy and education levels and are defined as those who own and operate farms with 10 or more hectares of land.To help plan the capacity building training; potential training participants from the entities (model farmer aggregators; commercial farmers; and input retailers) are divided into two phases as follows:1. Phase 1: 100 model farmers• 100 model farmers grouped into 4 groups with each having at most 25 participants. Each group will be trained for 5 days; thus a total of 20 days level of effort for all.2. Phase 2: 25 input retailers and 25 commercial farmers• 25 commercial farms trained as one group for 5 days.• 25 input retailers trained as one group for 5 days.If those two entities are found in different regions; there might be a need to train them in one central location.ALP modules are customized for the specific needs of model farmer aggregators; commercial farmers; and input retailers. In this regard; separate Training of Trainees (ToTs) are scheduled for each specific and customized ALP module. These ToTs are each divided into two parts for:1. Phase 1: Model farmers (literate & low-literacy versions of same content) with 7 days.• ToT part 1 for 5 days (in person)• ToT part 2 for 2 days (1 day for material review and 1 day for virtual ToT)2. Phase 2: Input retailers and commercial farmers with 5 days.• ToT part 1 for 3 days (in person)• ToT part 2 for 2 days (1 day for material review and 1 day for virtual ToT)In addition; coaching workshops and coaching sessions will be provided to ensure the coaches follow ALP-s best coaching practices:1. Phase 1: Model farmers:• Coaching workshop with a total of 5 days:o Part 1 is for 4 days (in-person). This may be reduced to 2 days if the firm already completed ALP's training of coaches.o Part 2 will be for 1 day (virtual).• Coaching sessions with a total of 12 sessions: 6 sessions will be done in person with 1 hour per session and the remaining 6 sessions will be done virtually with 1 hour per session. These sessions will be conducted for each entity.2. Phase 2: Input retailers and Commercial farmers• Coaching workshop with a total of 2 days:o Part 1 is for 1 day (in-person) and Part 2 will be for 1 day (virtual)N: B The number of days is lower because the trainers will be already trained during the model farmer phase 1 stage; and this will be more of a refresher.• Coaching sessions with a total of 12 sessions: 6 sessions will be done in person with 1 hour per session and the remaining 6 sessions will be done virtually with 1 hour per session.
