- Tenders are invited for Consultancy Services for Operational Research and Documentary Video Production of Community Engagement activities. Bid closing date: on or before January 26, 2024 COB Bid opening date: No Specific Opening Date Region: Addis Ababa Emory University Ethiopia, since its legal registration in the country, has been focusing on improving access, quality, and equity in health care service in the areas of maternal, newborn, children, and adolescent Health (MNCAH), nutrition, health care system strengthening, improving Community engagement and service utilization through various activities. The main purpose of this consultancy work is to conduct Operational Research and Documentary Video Production of the community engagement activities. It is also intended to measure the achievements in terms of the services provided and improvements observed in the above-listed intervention outcomes; primarily focusing on identification and documenting best practices for scaleup. The documentation will be made in the form of operational research reports and short documentary video films of some of the best practices. The research report and the documented best practices will be used by Emory University Ethiopia and the partners to share and implement the best practices to other parts of the country and publish them as peer-reviewed research articles. Objectives: The specific objectives of the consultancy work include: To Document community engagement events, community festivals/dialogues, pregnant and SBCC activities (process documentation). To identify and document facilitators and barriers of community engagement activities. To document success stories, best practices and lessons learned. To assess and document improvements seen in knowledge, attitude and services utilization (KAP survey) of mothers who gave birth in the last 18 months. A.1 Scope of Work In consultation with the Emory University Ethiopia country office and regional offices, the consultant will: Conduct desk review of existing literature, project plans, manuals, take action card, activities implemented and quarterly and annual reports. Conduct qualitative data collection, including Klls and FGDs to assess and document the community engagement activities, achievements, changes, success stories, best practices and lessons learned. conduct a minimum of 24 KIls with purposively selected professionals/experts and a minimum of 8 FGDs with community engagement activities implementors Conduct quantitative sample households survey among mother who gave birth in the 18 months period before the data collection time, evaluate the changes in the outcome measures. Conduct the analysis and interpretation of both the qualitative and quantitative data, write the report by triangulation.
