  • Description :
  • Expression of Interest are invited for Impact Evaluation of the Nutrition Component of the Second Agricultural Growth Project (AGP2). Publication Date: 17-Jan-2023 Expression of Interest Deadline: 31-Jan-2023 The Project Development Objective of AGP2 is to increase agricultural productivity and commercialization of smallholder farmers targeted by the project. In this endeavor, the project also aims to contribute to higher-level objectives among which are improved nutritional outcomes by diversifying and advancing dietary consumption. Among the planned interventions under AGP2 are tailor-made nutrition sensitive agriculture messages delivered through videos which will be evaluated through an impact evaluation led by the research team. The study will provide specific advice to the government and generate more generalized evidence on the effectiveness of different ways to design and target multimedia communications for agriculture and nutrition extension services to generate demand for nutrition-dense corps and nutrition-sensitive technologies. The WB research team is seeking to contract a survey firm that will support the design and implement the endline quantitative data collection from 3250 randomly selected smallholder households in 176 sampled kebeles. Each household survey will comprise an interview with the household head and his/her spouse. The survey will also include a short community questionnaire in the sampled kebeles. The 3250 households to be interviewed are split into three different samples and approaches to be taken by the survey firm: (i) For 2520 households, (15 household per 168 kebeles) previously interviewed during the baseline survey conducted between November 2020 and March 2021, the survey firm will be provided all of the identifying information to re-interview-interviewed both the household head and their spouse; (ii) For 840 households (5 households per 168 kebeles), not interviewed during the baseline survey, the survey firm will be provided with a list of households and identifying information from a census conducted in these 168 kebeles; and (iii) To interview 160 household (20 households per 8 kebeles), a listing exercise in five development groups per kebele will need to be conducted to construct the sampling frame, from which 160 households will be interviewed.
