  • Tenders are invited for Procuring the Services of a Research Firm to Provide Qualitative Data Collection and Produce Report Services for Two Formative Assessment. ASSIGNMENT: Lead and manage Qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting for two separate formative inquiries under the USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity; transcribe and translate responses, coding and analyzing data to produce findings report; and produce a final report. Objective of the Consultancy: FHI 360 is procuring the services of a research firm to provide qualitative data collection and producing report services to two formative assessment inquiries: 1) To explore household decision-making and familial support for the USAID Healthy behaviors activity priority behaviors. 2) To explore provider behavior around respectful, client-centered, and gender-responsive care in ANC and FP/RH visits and adherence to malaria guidelines. (III) Specific Scope of Work Once hired, the research firm will conduct the following tasks: Review and discuss concept notes and instruments with USAID Healthy Behaviors team. Refine and finalize the qualitative data collection instruments (focus group discussions and in-depth interviews) including translation into local language(s) Provide expert input into the refinement of data collection methodology based on local contexts. Recruit field data collection teams. In coordination with USAID Healthy Behavior team, train field data collection teams through an in-depth and interactive training to include practice, piloting, and feedback sessions. Conduct data collection interviewing targeted audiences. Conduct data collection interviewing targeted audiences. Organize all logistics for field data collection, including teams, transport, necessary allowance, monitoring, feedback, and communication plans. Maintain communications with USAID healthy behavior team, local study site representatives, or other key stakeholders, to ensure smooth and timely field work. Develop a work plan consisting of key milestones required for data collection. Liaise with the USAID healthy Behavior technical and MEL team on planning and implementation of the field activities. Undertake active and ongoing supervision of data collection to ensure data quality. Conduct the translation and transcription of all interviews. Conduct analysis of the data. Produce and submit an initial draft of a summary of key assessment findings by assessment inquiries in original language and English translation. (IV) Geographical area and Sample The formative research will be implemented in three regions namely Amhara, Oromia and SNNP. The specific assessment woredas shall be available later.
