  • Tenders are invited for Senior Malaria Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Consultant. Period of Performance - September 1, 2021 - November 15, 2022 Facilitate a participatory SBC strategy development workshop and lead development of a malaria SBC strategy for Ethiopia to combat the Anopheles Stephensi vector Purpose: FHI 360 is procuring the services of a senior consultant to provide short-term technical assistance in the development of a malaria SBC strategy for Ethiopia to combat the Anopheles Stephensi vector, including leading the design of a draft strategy, facilitating a co-design workshop to develop strategy, and incorporating key inputs and reviews to finalize the strategy document. The Senior SBC Consultant will work closely with the USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity to design a malaria SBC strategy for Ethiopia to combat Anopheles Stephensi (hereafter “malaria SBC strategy”). The Senior SBC Consultant will play a leading role in conceptualizing a strategy, designing and facilitating a co-design workshop to develop this strategy, and in finalizing the strategy document, incorporating workshop inputs and reviews from key stakeholders as determined by USAID Healthy Behaviors and the Senior SBC Consultant. The Senior SBC Consultant will be supported by USAID Healthy Behaviors staff, who will provide administrative and technical support and oversight, throughout the consultancy. Scope of work The Senior SBC Consultant will conduct the following activities: # Task 1 Participate in planning calls and meetings with USAID Healthy Behaviors technical staff and other stakeholders (as requested). · Meet with USAID Healthy Behaviors staff to discuss questions and ideas · Draft outline for malaria strategy 2 Produce components to inform a draft malaria SBC strategy, to inform a strategy co-design workshop the week of September 19th · Building on an existing literature review, conduct a review of evidence as needed to inform the SBC strategy Complete key informant interviews (KII) with relevant stakeholders, as informed by USAID Healthy Behaviors technical staff 3 Prepare for a co-design malaria SBC strategy workshop the week of September 19th · Develop agenda and materials for a participatory workshop, in coordination with the USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity team 4 Facilitate a co-design workshop to develop malaria SBC strategy, in coordination with the USAID Healthy Behaviors- team · Lead facilitation of, and related preparation, of the co-design workshop with USAID, Government of Ethiopia (GOE), and United States Government (USG) implementing partners · Develop a brief workshop report and recommendations to finalize the malaria SBC strategy 5 Draft the Ethiopia malaria SBC strategy based on inputs from the co-design workshop · Produce a malaria SBC draft for review by the USAID Healthy Behaviors Team (note, multiple rounds of revision may be expected) 6 Adjust revised strategy based on feedback from key stakeholders (to be elicited by the USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity) · Incorporate stakeholder reviews into the malaria SBC strategy 7 Final the malaria SBC strategy document · Produce a final draft for the USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity to review · Produce a final malaria SBC strategy, incorporating comments from the USAID Healthy Behaviors Activity to be shared with stakeholders · Produce a final summary Power Point presentation (PPT) How to Apply Proposals must be submitted by 29 August 2022 via email to: Jamie Greenberg - jgreenberg@fhi360.org with “Ethiopia Malaria SBC Strategy” in the subject line.
